Aspen Forest Residents' Petition in Support of a Clearview School

We, the undersigned residents of Aspen Forest, call on the Halton District School Board to deliver equitable and good programming to ALL residents of Southeast Oakville.  We demand that in deliberating the future of PE14/Ward 3, the  HDSB give due consideration to the building of a Clearview school, that would house the 400 JK-6 children that reside east of Ford Drive.  

Under the current proposal in the Administration's report, Aspen Forest children will be placed in Chisholm Public School.  This school would only house 300 students.  Aspen Forest residents are rightly concerned that this number will not provide Aspen Forest's students with adequate programming and resources under the funding formula.  Aspen Forest is also rightly concerned that the Chisholm school site cannot sustain a 300 student population with the minimal renovations proposed, and its size and structural limitations.

Parents of Aspen Forest's elementary school children are concerned that losing access to school buses will create transportation problems for many in this area.  We also believe that if transition to another school is necessary, it should be a transition to a newer, better, cleaner, more environmentally sustainable building with students that are already familiar to one another.

The undersigned Aspen Forest residents strongly disagree with the Administration's report and the implications it has on our children.
